Toni Foster is a photographer based in Victoria, BC.
She is currently working on her first photobook, Being Here, developed from a decade of photographs made on Vancouver Island. The work approaches water not as scenery, but as a condition of daily life on the island.
Toni works across a range of subjects, drawn to what reveals itself through daily life. Her photographs are attentive to atmosphere, scale, and the ways environment shapes experience.
She typically works with a fixed-lens camera, removing friction between seeing and shooting.
