Being Here
Being Here is a black-and-white photobook project being made on Vancouver Island, at the edge of the Pacific.
The work explores life in a place shaped by water — in all its forms, from fog and rain to rivers and open ocean. Water is background and barrier, invitation and obstacle, work and play, often within the span of a single day.
People appear throughout, rarely at the centre. They move through conditions larger than themselves, drawn to a place they cannot fully know or control.
